Road Construction Updates


The City of Irving works hard to minimize the disruption caused by road construction and to keep everyone informed of construction projects, timelines and traffic flow.


While the traffic cones are a nuisance, construction means new and improved infrastructure, as well as community growth. Growth brings in the tax revenue needed to continue offering quality services and maintain Irving resident taxes and fees that are among the lowest in North Texas.

TxDOT Project on SH 356 (Irving Boulevard) Runs Through September

The Texas Department of Transportation's (TxDOT) $7.6 million SH 356 (Irving Boulevard) Rehabilitation Project runs from State Highway (SH) 183 to the eastern limit of Irving.

MacArthur Boulevard: Southbound Traffic Switch

Updated Jan. 24: North- and southbound MacArthur Boulevard traffic will move to the newly paved southbound lanes on Saturday, Jan. 25. Two-way traffic will be maintained on the project until further notice.
