Notices + Hearings
Prior to the public hearing, cases are advertised in the newspaper, and public notices are mailed out to the owners of surrounding properties (as listed in the most recent Certified Tax Roll) within a distance of 200 feet from the proposed zoning change, per state law.
Notices also are sent to the local school district, per state law, and as a courtesy to registered neighborhood associations within that distance. Some types of cases have larger notification distances.
These notices will identify the Case Number, the location of the case, what is being requested, and the time and date of the scheduled public hearings.
