Neighborhood Watch
By fostering a culture of cooperation and shared responsibility, the Irving Neighborhood Watch Program empowers residents to take an active role in public safety, ensuring that every neighborhood remains a secure place to live, work and raise families.
The Irving Neighborhood Watch Program is a community-driven initiative designed to enhance public safety through active resident participation and close coordination with the Irving Police Department. The program encourages local residents to work together by sharing information, monitoring their neighborhoods, and reporting any suspicious activity. This collaborative effort plays a critical role in deterring criminal behavior and ensuring a prompt response when incidents occur.
Neighborhood Watch groups are established throughout Irving and are supported by training and resources provided by the police department. These groups meet regularly to discuss local concerns, review safety protocols, and receive updates on crime trends. Participants are trained in effective communication, situational awareness, and the proper methods for reporting potential threats to law enforcement.
The program is structured to maintain an open line of communication between community members and police officers. Residents are provided with contact information, guidelines, and safety checklists to help them stay informed and vigilant. The Irving Police Department relies on the proactive engagement of Neighborhood Watch volunteers to identify and address issues before they escalate, ultimately contributing to a safer and more secure community.
Eyes on You Neighborhood Watch
The Eyes on You Neighborhood Watch Program is a new initiative designed to help neighborhoods take a more proactive role in crime prevention through organized group efforts. Neighborhoods interested in becoming more involved can volunteer to become a group organizer and join the Eyes on You program. This program leverages social media through the Neighbors App by Ring, facilitating real-time communication and community engagement.
Once all program requirements have been met, the neighborhood will receive official signs that are typically placed at the main entrances to help identify the area as an active Neighborhood Watch zone.
