Heritage Neighborhood District

The Heritage District has been selected as the second project for the City of Irving’s Neighborhood Planning Initiative. The initiative is designed to:

  1. Identify community leaders who can assist with outreach, engagement and project implementation.
  2. Identify events, activities and community meetings that staff can organize or participate in to ensure all voices in the district are heard.
  3. Establish projects and future land use changes that will improve the quality of life of people who live, work and play in the district.

Boundaries

The Heritage District is bounded to the south by Shady Grove Road; to the west by MacArthur Boulevard, N. Sowers Road and O’Connor Road; to the east by Nursery Road and N. Britain Road; and to the north by Rock Island Road, W. Pioneer Drive and Union Bower Road.

This focus area is home to approximately 7,600 Irving residents, 285 Irving commercial properties, and encompasses:

  1. Approximately 1,036 acres
  2. 1,614 assorted single-family homes and duplexes
  3. 1,283 apartment units or townhomes

Please participate in our Community Survey. English/Spanish

Purpose of the Survey:

  1. Ask attendees if they live, work or play in the Heritage District.
  2. Find out if they are interested in attending or participating in public meetings for the Neighborhood Plan.
  3. For those outside the district, provide an opportunity to express interest in having a neighborhood plan in their own community.
