Backflow & Cross Connection

Preventing backflow and cross-connections is essential for safe water. We enforce measures to stop contaminants, including regular inspections and maintenance for regulatory compliance.

Fats, Oil, and Grease (FOG) Program

The FOG Program prevents blockages and environmental harm by managing fats, oils, and grease. The Department guides residents and businesses on proper disposal and require food service establishments to use grease interceptors. The Department also regulate liquid waste transporters to ensure responsible waste handling.

Industrial Pretreatment

The Department works with industries to ensure their wastewater meets environmental standards. Ongoing programs includes monitoring, permitting and assisting industries in minimizing pollution and protecting waterways.

Regulatory Compliance

The City adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations to maintain compliance and protect our environment. The compliance team works diligently to stay informed about regulatory changes and implement necessary measures to meet evolving standards. Regular audits and assessments are conducted to ensure continuous compliance.

Community Engagement

Engaging with the community is essential to success. Water staff participates in activities and events and serves on committees to facilitate the protection, improvement and good stewardship of watersheds in North Central Texas. The Department offers educational resources, workshops and events to raise awareness about environmental issues and promote sustainable practices.
