Irving offers a diverse array of public educational opportunities, primarily managed by three independent school districts: Irving Independent School District (IISD), Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District (CFBISD) and Coppell Independent School District (CISD).


Irving also is home to a number of colleges and one university, as well as being just minutes away from numerous higher education institutions.

Irving Public Schools


Irving Independent School District (ISD)
  1. Irving ISD is the PreK-12 public school district for more than 33,000 students. Irving ISD operates 38 educational facilities.
  2. In 2020, the district opened its first collegiate academy, Singley Collegiate Academy , giving students the opportunity to earn up to 60 college credit hours, tuition-free. The district also expanded its career and technical programs to middle schools so students can begin exploring career tracks at a younger age. In August 2022, the district opened its second collegiate academy, South Irving Collegiate Academy , giving more students access to free college.
Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD
  1. Based in Carrollton, Texas, the school district serves most of the cities of Carrollton and Farmers Branch, as well as parts of Addison, Coppell, Dallas and Irving. CFBISD has 24 elementary schools, six middle schools, five high schools and three education centers.
Coppell ISD
  1. Coppell ISD serves most of Coppell, as well as parts of Grapevine, Irving, Dallas and Lewisville, with more than 12,800 students.


Irving is also home to many private and charter schools. Among them are Christian, Catholic, Muslim, college prep and honors schools.
