Find current rates for water, wastewater, drainage, and other city utility services. Charges are based on usage, service type, and billing cycle.
Fiscal Year 2024-25 City of Irving Rates and Fees
Effective Oct. 1, 2024, water, wastewater and drainage rates will increase and be reflected on statements after Nov. 1. Residential solid waste rates and EMS fees remain unchanged.
- EMS Fee: Assessed on all domestic meters at $1.50 plus an additional $1.50 for each dwelling unit of a multifamily residential service location.
Meter Reading & Billing
- Meters are read every 28 to 34 days (varies due to weekends and holidays).
- Utility invoices are generated and mailed based on cycle.
- Payment is due 25 days after the bill is generated.

The City of Irving offers multiple utility services for customers on one consolidated bill. Note that not all services may not be offered at particular locations.
The monthly service charge is based on meter size and includes the first 3,000 gallons of water usage. (Effective Oct. 1, 2024.)

- Next 10,000 gallons of water, per 1,000 gallons - $5.22
Large Industrial and Fire Hydrant Meter Water Rates
- Per 1,000 gallons - $4.58
More than 20,000 Gallons
- Winter Rates: October to May consumption, per 1,000 gallons - $5.58
- Summer Rates: June to September consumption, per 1,000 gallons - $6.14
