Read Before You Bid!

  1. The City Has Bidding Rights. The City of Irving reserves the right to place the first and last bid on any item.
  2. No Do-Overs! All sales are final. No refunds, no exchanges. What you win is what you get.
  3. Payment Rules:
  4. You must pay in full before leaving the premises.
  5. Every purchase must be paid for before removal from the city pound lot.
  6. No warranties, no guarantees. The city doesn’t promise anything about the condition of vehicles or parts, nor does it guarantee title. It only transfers whatever title interest it has.
  7. Responsibility Transfers to You:
  8. Once the auctioneer says “SOLD!” the vehicle or parts are your responsibility. That includes any loss or damage, even if you haven’t moved it yet.
  9. All purchases must be removed by Sunday following the Thursday sale. If you don’t pick up your vehicle in time, it will be re-impounded, and storage fees will apply.
  10. Unpaid Vehicles & Late Fees:
  11. If you don’t pay in full or fail to remove your purchase, the city reserves the right to resell the vehicle.
  12. Payments by check or credit card mean the seller retains a security interest in the vehicle until fully cleared.
  13. If you’re late on payment, you’ll need to pay a late fee and post a deposit for at least six months before you can bid again.
  14. Anyone failing to pay within 30 minutes after the last item is sold will be charged a 2.5% late fee and if you don’t pay at all, you won’t be allowed back.
  15. Auctioneer Has the Final Say:
  16. The auctioneer determines the buyer for each sale.
  17. If a dispute arises between bidders, the auctioneer can reopen bidding at their discretion, and their decision is final.
  18. No changes or adjustments will be made later. The official auction records are the final word.
  19. City Employees Can’t Bid. Per City Ordinance 3488, city employees and their family members are not allowed to bid.
