About Us
The City of Irving Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to offer a variety of innovative programs to the community. There is a senior center, gazebos that can be reserved, picnic shelters, and buildings available for club and private use. Seasonal pools and two year-round indoor aquatic facilities provide numerous opportunities.
The Irving Parks and Recreation department is committed offering a welcoming environment to members, visitors and guests, and it does not tolerate discrimination of any kind based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression/reassignment, or any other status protected by national, federal, state or local laws.
Amenities
More than 2,000 acres of park land awaits exploration through amenities such as:
- Hiking and biking trails
- Picnic areas
- Playgrounds
- Disc golf
- Fishing
Special events, athletic fields, as well as tennis and basketball courts provide even more opportunities for you to fill your every recreational need.
Divisions
The City of Irving Parks and Recreation Department maintains:
- Two seasonal pools: Lee and Senter
- Two seasonal aquatic centers: Cimarron Family Aquatic Center and West Irving Aquatic Center
- Two splash parks: Northwest Park and Southwest Park
- Two year-round indoor facilities: North Lake Natatorium and Heritage Aquatic Center
The seasonal facilities open in late May around the Memorial Day holiday and are open until Labor Day.
