Homeless Prevention


This program, also known as Rental Assistance, provides housing assistance to Irving residents who are behind on their rent and at risk of homelessness using federal Housing and Urban Development Department (HUD) funds.


The City of Irving can provide short-term assistance with rent payments to qualified Irving residents.

Eligibility
Apply
  1. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency status.
  2. Must live in an apartment complex in Irving, Texas.
  3. Household gross income may not exceed the current HUD income guidelines according to the available funding source.
  4. Must be behind on rent.
  5. Monthly rent must be reasonable and/or within current HUD Fair Market Rent rates according to the available funding source.
  6. Must provide documentation of a recent financial hardship.
  7. Must reside in a property that is willing to accept the terms of the City of Irving’s Homeless Prevention Program.
