Irving Animal Services (IAS), a division of the Police Department, is dedicated to protecting the health, safety and well-being of both animals and residents.


IAS encourages responsible pet ownership and maintains a safe city by enforcing state laws and city ordinances, and offering community outreach, as well as public education. IAS also provides humane care to stray or abandoned animals, City of Irving residents’ surrendered pets and animals that were treated inhumanely or seized due to abuse/neglect.


The department strives to foster a safe and compassionate environment for all through adoption, fostering, volunteers, community outreach and effective animal control.
